once again clare appears and synthesizes everything i feel about something…i’ve been trying to explain to people that i think the album is fun and taylor is a Better Celebrity when she is dumb and a little cringe and embarrassing!!! and then everyone is like “why won’t she speak on Palestine.” please why do u expect that from her. why. i am baffled. do you not see the same taylor i do.
everyone has forgotten how celebrities of this caliber behave and what they do post britney because there’s been such a long dearth of truly massive celebs
i really didn't think it could get more annoying than ttpd but i feel like it's particularly annoying because the album is just like… fun. with ttpd i was like, well, this is a great album, who cares if people are annoying lol. this time it's like well i would be joking around on main about how taylor doesn't know how many people live on a block if i wasn't seeing a bunch of randos call this "eugenics"
“It’s incredibly sad that even the most long-term couples cannot withstand the fact of a woman growing old. Oh, well.”
^^ I read every showgirl take adjacent to embarrassment this way. 20 years into Taylor, is my performed distaste with her “cringe” not a rejection of my own millennial shadow??
Can we discuss how stoned Taylor looks in the Father Figure lyric video. I love that her secret vice is weed. it’s like she’s a 1950s bad girl sneaking reefer.
charli is workshopping a diss track with a comment about the weed makin her sleepy eta: i agree with your larger points i just watch the lyric video last night and i was dying
I feel like every Swift melody is a pleasantly infectious brain-worm, whereas when something like “360” re-enters my head it is distressing on all counts.
This was the only hot take I needed on these topics. Like did Pitchfork have a point that Actually Romantic sounds like Kidz Bop Pixies? Yes. But does that matter? Definitely not.
when midnights came out i saw a tweet that was like “vigilante shit sounds like a song lorde made after sustaining a brain injury” - this is true but i like to laugh and dance
Also, this may be a projection from a 21-year-old worried about trading youthful "zest" for austere adulthood as i age, but since when are 35-year-olds completely evolved past the preoccupations and hang-ups of 20-somethings in terms of romance, friendship, desire, identity, etc??. I feel like our parents and their contemporaries are always tending wounds that are very adolescent, but I've always sensed that's innate to humanity and a totally normal component of being an alive human right now, but I could be way off base and totally misreading the trajectory of healthy psychological growth lolol.

as much as i don’t care for most of brat i do listen to von dutch to calm down
but you’re right. and i don’t think that’s her goal
And she’s right that coke is gross and it’s so much cooler to be friends with Blake Lively than, like, Gabriette
coke is so immature to me - much like gabriette putting her hands in the pasta
Right like grow up...
this made me want to watch Babygirl again
^^^^^^ on the right track
Sean Penn: I'll smelt my oscars
never gets old
Bless you for this.
This was so good and I could not agree with you more
